Permanent
3-acre eco-sculpture garden at San Francisco's waste management company,
NORCAL Sanitary Fill Company.
Reclamation
project of collected-on-site salvage materials and drought tolerant
plants.
"Mountain"
is homage to San Bruno Mountain's contested open space (visible immediately
to the West): earthquake freeway rubble planted with rock-climbing plants
that will eventually cover it; from it flows a "river" of
75 San Francisco high school students' "hopes and dreams".
Cast
stepping stones some made by site staff & families
embedded with "memory" salvage.
Garden
used for tours (+/-1,500 students per year) & exhibitions of resident
artists' work.
